Fiona is the Head of Fostering Services and Registered Manager for Cornerways Fostering Services. Fiona has managed the service since it began in 2003, having previously worked in a large local authority for many years as a children's social worker, fostering and adoption social worker and as a Fostering Team Manager. She is a qualified social worker, holds a Practice Teacher qualification, PQ 2-5 Award in Family Placement and Level 5 Diploma in Management.
Amanda is the Fostering Team Manager. Amanda joined Cornerways in 2013 having previously worked as a social worker and as a Practice Supervisor in a large local authority. Amanda has worked in children's services and fostering for many years, including leading a specialist team of social workers and foster carers within a therapeutic re-parenting scheme for children with attachment difficulties. Amanda's particular interest is in promoting high quality care for children growing up in foster care, ensuring that foster carers are well supported and able to both understand and meet the needs of the young people who live with them.
Sharon joined Cornerways Fostering Services in 2004. Sharon is a social worker additionally qualified with the Post Qualifying Specialist Award in social work and is able to provide practice placements for student social workers. Within our team she has a senior role and has a particular lead in developing and delivering our fostering services for parents and babies/children placed together. Her previous background is as a foster carer with an interest in how psychology can help foster carers and the children they care for.
Marguerite comes from a child protection front line team and has worked with young people in residential care, as pastoral support in schools and as a mental health support worker.
Casey joined the team as a part-time administrator in October 2017. Casey has 30 years experience in administration and 12 years in social care environment.
Marielle joined the team as a part-time administrator in September 2018. Marielle also is a team leader at a local children's contact centre.
Fiona, Amanda, Sharon and Marguerite are all social workers registered with the HCPC.
